Daily bathing in rivers and lakes
I bathe in rivers and lakes every day, even when there is snow, and I think it’s wonderful. Meanwhile I don’t like a normal shower at all anymore. In a normal shower there is nothing that I love so much about bathing in nature, and you also have to clean. My bathing experiences over the last few months have been little adventures in my everyday life.
My morning routine includes bathing
I usually bathe in the morning. I’m going for a walk and say thank you in six languages for my life, for this good morning, for friends and family, for my car and my health. In the middle of this thanksgiving prayer or thanksgiving meditation, I arrive at a river or lake and find a place where I have a little privacy and peace. I set up my GoPro, press record, and film my bathing ritual. Some streams or rivers are quite shallow, and I sit down at the deepest point and wash myself there. I enjoy being able to wash off the sweat of the night. I enjoy the feeling of cool water on my skin. I enjoy the view over the river or lake and the chirping of the birds. Then I come out of the water, dry myself off and put on something fresh. I finish recording the video, take one or two selfies of myself with the swimming area, put on my shoes, pack my things and go back to the car.
